I made some glass to give as gifts this weekend. I made 3 with the word beer in different languages. I found the words on this site . All the recipients loved their glass. I also did some more craft but will post about them later. Now for the real reason I am posting.... FOOD TASTING!!!
This weekend we had our food tasting with our caterer. Since our wedding is over a year away, we wanted to get our caterer locked in. It was the best experience ever and the six of us enjoyed it. There was a lot of eating, drinking, laughing and choosing the menu for the wedding.

Food & Coloring!
On the food front, Eric and I will be doing our first food tasting for our wedding! I am super excited to try some of the menu items we choose. Since the caterer was the only one to get back to us, I am hoping everyone enjoys the food. Did I mention that we will be having 4 other people to help us decide... anyway. Since I don't have any pictures of the food, I will show you something I recently did.
Last week while at work, I went on a shopping spree and bought a couple of cat related digi stamps. They are all really cute but I didn't find to many. I did got the heart tailed cats on squigglefly.com
I am still new to digital stamps and am getting use to printing in the size I need. This one I printed so it would fill the 8 1/ by 11 paper. I used some watercolor pencils that I have had since high school. It was easy to figure out how I wanted to color it. Now I need to decide on if I want to frame it and give it as a gift or if I want to put it in a scrapbook. O.... decisions ... decisions.
In the next couple weeks, I will be trying out the digistamps I either purchase or got as a freebie from various sites. I am going to try my hand at making some cards and I will post as I complete them.

Learning to Use Adobe Programs: Making a JPEG
I purchased Adobe Creative Suite CS4 a couple of months ago and have played with it a little. I am still learning what things I can do with which programs. I have gotten some free adobe brushes from various sites. I created the about Jpeg as an e-mail reminder for the people coming along on Eric and mine wedding food tasting. We are really excited to be moving forward with the wedding planning but I am realizing how much I still need to make decisions on. Anyway, this little 10 minute project made me realize how easy Photoshop can be. I am hoping to use Illustrator and Photoshop to design our invitations.

Cat Theme Birthday Cat!
My FMIL's birthday was this past week and I wanted to use some of the digi stamps that I recently bought. I bought a cat butt digi on squigglefly.com. So while Clint was sunning himself, I made this card using the digi stamp and my cricut machine.

Learning new photo skills
I haven't had to much time to do any crafting or photo editing but while at work I have been researching. I have wanted to take some childhood pictures and enhance them. This is something I need to do when I have a day to spend in front of the computer. Anyway, I was reading the Crazy for Crafting blog and found some great tutorial videos about enhancing color in pictures. I want to try this technique out on some garden pictures I have. Hopefully, I will have some time between studying and work to try it out on the picture above.
I looked around Crazy for Crafting blog and loved a lot of her projects. I might try and make some but for now I have lots to do but no time to did it.

Gift Boxes for Glasses
On Wednesday, I came home to see my new machine had been delivered. Unfortunately, I didn't have time until Sunday to play with it.
I needed to some how create some gift boxes for the etch glass gift that I created. Since I now have a cricut that can cut up to 12x24, I began to play around on MTC.
Here are the two boxes I created:

Starting to look at Wedding Attire....
It is a beautiful day outside and I am stuck at work in a building. At least I have a nice big window to enjoy the sun while I work away on a computer. One good thing that happened as I checked my email and got one from Gilt.com. I opened it to find that they are having a wedding themed sale on Friday, March 12, at noon ET. For those that don't know, gilt.com is a sample sale website which has many different designers. If you would like to join, click here for the invitation.
The email got me thinking about my wedding party's attire. Since my bridal party is going to be composed of girls with many different body types, I am probably going to let them choose their own but within a certain color spectrum. I will look at the gilt.com sale and see what they have because I might see something I like or something I could suggest to my bridal party.
But since I am about 15 months out from the wedding I am in no rush to start nailing down the attire. However, I do need to start sketching out some of the DIY projects that I have in my head. I am going to start posting some of the DIY wedding projects that I have found and might like to try and include in my wedding.
That is all for now. I hope everyone is having a great sunny day!!

Oscar Night: Bird on the Linen Door
So while the Oscars where starting, I decided to do a mini project. In between Eric's comments about Zac Efron's height, I found a bird and branch picture. I used MTC to create the cut file.
Then I put my vinyl and mat into the cricut. And waited for it to finish.....
I then weeded out the vinyl I didn't want to use. Then Dodger played with the extra vinyl.

Wishing I was a cat
Eric and I really enjoy watching movies of all sorts but with our schedules lately we never go a chance to see Avatar until now. Since I finally had a day off from work and school, we went to finally see Avatar. We saw it IMAX 3D and enjoyed the movie. It will be a definite DVD purchase. Currently we own over 400 DVDs. We really enjoy watching movies rather than prime tv.
The picture above is what we can home to after the movie and IKEA. Clint Eastwood , the cat, sleeping on the chair by the entrance window. It makes me really want to be a cat and sleep all day, have someone feed me and clean up after me.
Well, since I am not a cat I am spending the rest of the day to clean up after my 3 "hard" working cats.
I am also reorganizing my craft area and adding another IKEA table. Hopefully this will help me be productive with my crafting adventures. Currently I am trying to create some MTC files from some logos to make some more gifts. I am using Adobe programs and will post about it once I have completed the process.
For now, my helper (Dodger) and I will be cleaning !!!

Happy March!!
I don't have any crafts to post but wanted to let you know that it is National Craft Month.
But...... I did buy myself an early birthday present.
The larger cricut!!! I am excited to try making some boxes and larger vinyl items. I hope to receive it within the next week. Then I hope to complete some of my projects while I am on break from swim coaching. Until then happy crafting!
